Android Phone: To change SIM 2 slot into WCDMA 3G Signal in dual SIM smarphones

Before trying to enable 3G signal in SIM 2 slot, we have to ensure that you smartphone manufacturer has availed this option for your phone.

You can see it in your phone specifications in phone manual or in some online websites. It is not possible to use 3G is both sim at a time

What is WCDMA sim slot : 

In Dual SIM smartphone, only one SIM slot can be activated with high speed internet or WCDMA means (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) . In some smartphones, it is interchangeable. But in some smartphones, primary sim is WCDMA / GSM and secondary sim is only for GSM (low speed internet  connection like 2G, EDGE)

If it is clearly provided that  SIM 1 Slot is for WCDMA and SIM 2 Slot is of GSM type, then this procedure will not work most probably.

The only solution is to swap (Change the sim cards between the slots and use your desired 3G sim card in Primary SIM 1 slot.

Mostly dual SIM phones with high end specifications has this 3G Switching option and phones in low entry level market doesn’t have this switching option and they have primary SIM as 3G and Secondary SIM as 2G

If you hope that your phone specification has both slots can be used as 3G then we can proceed further.

Here we have to note that at same time we can’t enable 3G in both SIM slots.

How to set sim2 as wcdma:

So, If you want to convert Sim 2 Slot into 3G, you have to set SIM 1 slot as GSM, then set SIM 2 slot as WCDMA or 3G

Likewise if you try to convert SIM 1 as 3G, set SIM 2 slot as GSM first and then enable WCDMA in SIM 1 Slot.

It is better to plan accordingly in which SIM card, you are going to browse high speed internet mostly, then FIX that simcard as a Primary SIM card Slot.

Changing it often may result in confusion and it may also result  in unnecessary loss of talk time.

Will GSM sim work in WCDMA slot ?

Yes, GSM sim will work in WCDMA slot. But the internet browsing speed will be according to 2G speed of the network provider

Procedure:

• Call to one of your friend you need to include in conference.

• Once he attended the call, you should add the another friend to the conference

• This can be done by Add contact to conference icon that is displaying right below the End Call button.

• Similarly you can add 5 members maximum to the conference call.

• The call charges will be based on your active plan whether post-paid or Prepaid.

•  For example, you call tariff is 60 paise /minute, you are making a conference call with 5 people then you will be charged 3 Rupee per minute.

In some circles the mobile network charges 30 Rs/month for using conference call services. In most of the circles, they provide this service for free.

Better you have to check with your customer care number of your mobile network before making a conference call.

Whatsapp : Hide Last seen | Double Blue tick | Disable Online Status | Block particular number | Send scheduled messages

Whatsapp android come PC application now allows their users to keep their privacy secretly by introducing two new options.

Now we can remove last seen time from Whatsapp so that other people including your friends cannot see the last seen time.

You can also remove double Blue tick symbol in messages from your friends so the read status of their message will not be known until you make a reply to him.

Apart from these two options you can also block a particular mobile number if you feel that you receive lot of nuisance and disturbance from that particular number.

Disable and Remove Last seen Message, hide delivery status and Double Blue Check Symbol:

1. Open Whatsapp and go to settings - Account - Privacy.
2. Here you can see a set of options.
3. Among these options, select Last seen and choose Nobody. It means that Nobody including your friends cannot see your online availability in Whatsapp.
4. They can't see Double Blue tick symbol even if you have seen his message. But they can see the delivered symbol that is grey color double tick.
5. If you choose contacts Only, then the people who are in your contact list can see your presence in Whatsapp.

The feature is made with some special condition , that is if you activate hide last seen option, then you cannot see your friends last seen time .

Block a particular Contact in Whatsapp:

If you do not want to receive message from a particular whatsapp number, then you can add them in the block list. The block list can be set in Settings - Account - Privacy -Messaging (Blocked Contacts)

Trick to see last seen of Your friends:

Even if you disabled last seen message, there is a trick to see your friends last seen timestamp. Yes, the trick is you have to temporarily enable last seen stamp and go your friends last seen message, then immediately come back to settings and disable last seen to Nobody.

This does not work if your friend also disabled last seen option.

To Hide , Disable Online status , send schedule whatsapp messages

Even if you set the last seen to Nobody, the online status will be shown. There is no option to hide or disable online status in whatsapp . But if you use Whatsapp plus , then you can get some additional options including hiding online status to be invisible, to send scheduled birthday wishes etc.

But whatspp official team do not encourage to use whatsapp plus because it may contain some bugs which causes privacy issue.

To Recall or delete Whatsapp sent message

There are two cases.

• If your message is already sent from your mobile phone ( If you see single tick or grey double tick or blue double tick) , then you cannot delete or recall the message.
• If your message is not yet sent to the whatsapp server ( If you see clock symbol near the message) , then you can immediately delete to the message to prevent sending to the recipient.

Future Vision of Google's loon Project and Facebook's Internet.org Project

Internet Giants Google and Facebook have recently laid their foot prints in a grand vision . Yes they aim to spread the rays of Internet all around the world in nook and corner of the living habitats.



Google have started its journey in this project with its innovative loon's Project in which huge balloons will fly over the landscape in a height over than the path of Aero-planes. Those balloons will spread internet signals to the people who set up loon antenna. And there will be signal connection between these balloons itself.

Currently this project is in test phase in NewZealand  with selected number of peoples and Google often reports that they are learning and rectifying lot of things to improve the efficiency and reliability of the loon project.

Soon we can expect the project will be spread in other parts of the world.

On the other hand , Facebook joined hand with huge corporate industries like Ericson, Airtel etc to increase the internet reach among peoples. Their main preference is to spread the internet throughout Africa where most of the nations are still developing and under developed. Internet facility may improve the lifestyle of the continent is the strong belief of Facebook. They have made the vision statement as Making the Internet Affordable

There is no doubt that providing affordable internet among ordinary people will help to develop their lifestyle, provide them the basic services.
