Mobile Number Portability (MNP) : Change existing mobile network to other network without changing current number

Obviously we can shift your mobile number to other network .This is called mobile number portability (MNP). This rule is made as a rule in Indian by telecom Network Authority named TRAI. Procedure to change your exiting mobile number to other network : Send an sms PORT <your mobile number) to 1900 You will receive an Unique Porting Code (UPC). This code is valid for 15 days. Visit the nearest showroom of your new mobile network that you wish to change. They will register your details using bio-metric scanner and give you the new sim. It may cost you upto 100 Rs, it ll credited as talktime. Within Seven days your number will be converted in to new network and you can enjoy the benefits of the new network with the same number. You will receive a confirmation sms once your mobile number gets ported.

Airtel MNP :Change my Airtel Number to Aircel or other Network

You don't need to change your fancy Airtel number now. If you want to switch over to another network like Aircel,Vodafone or Reliance from current Airtel network , you can easily transfer your same Airtel number to your new Aircel network though Mobile Number Portability option. The process you have to follow is given below. Step 1: From your Airtel number send a SMS , PORT your 10 digit mobile number to 1900. For example : PORT 9568901010  Step 2: Within Few minutes you will receive a pin code from Airtel network. This pincode is called Ultra Pin Code which contains 8 digits. Find PUK code & Reset Forgotten PIN number by SMS or recover through Online

PUK (PIN Unlocking Key) is an unique number for every mobile SIM card , set by every mobile network to protect the privacy, security of their costumers in case of any misuse. When the PIN code is entered three times wrongly, then entering PIN code will be locked and the phone software will request to enter the PUK code. The default pin code for most SIM card is  1234 When you entered the PUK code also wrongly for 10 times, then you have to take your Phone to the customer care center to unlock and recover it. So, better stop entering wrong PIN code to avoid requesting PUK code. Some networks allow you to retrieve PUK through SMS or Online, and this works mostly when your SIM is in active status. Because they will send an OTP to very your mobile number. And do not believe any software that generate PUK code online or offline. You need to get them in original website of your mobile network provider. Otherwise you should contact your network Provider to get the PUK code.
