Android: Solo launcher - Remove search bar from home screen

Solo launcher is one of the popular Android smartphone launcher known for its highly customizable settings. In recent updates, Solo launcher introduced a new search bar in home screen and some users find difficulty in removing the search bar

To remove search bar in Solo Launcher

1. Tap on the center of the search bar in Solo launcher
2. Now in the search page opened, a small logo of Solo will appear on the corner
3. Tap on the small SOLO logo to open search settings
4. Disable the search bar to remove it from home screen

To stop annoying notifications running in background in SOLO launcher

1. In home screen, select menu button
2. Select Solo settings → Battery
3. Disable notification bar
4. Hereafter notifications will not appear by solo launcher in Task bar

Q mobile users can enable security PIN code to prevent misuse of the SIM card and to ensure safety of the data stored in the phone. This article clarifies about PIN code, PUK code for Q mobile users.

Q mobile PIN code :

The PIN code is related to mobile network provider and not the phone. Q mobile PIN code consists of four or five digit numeric security code. The default PIN code for Q mobile depends on the mobile network provider. To know the default PIN code , the user should contact the customer care of the network provider

Q mobile PIN code locked :

If the user types the PIN code wrongly for three times, then your Q-mobile phone will be locked and ask for PUK code

Q mobile PUK code:

1. If the PIN code is entered wrongly for three incorrect attempts, then the phone will ask for PUK code.
2. To know the PUK code and reset new PIN number, contact customer care of the mobile network provider (ex: Zong, Telenor) to know the PUK code
3. If you enter PUK code for 10 incorrect attempts , then the SIM card will be blocked and you have to replace new SIM card.

Android : Change file extension in Android File Browsers- pdf,bin,zip,rar,7z | View Bin file in android

In Android Smart phones, the default file browser allow the user to rename only the file name. If you want to change the extension of the file, then follow any one method mentioned in this article.

To change file extension in Android Phone :

1. Go to Google play store and download ES file explorer developed by ES APP Group. After Installing the ES Explorer in your smart phone, browse the file in ES Explorer and select rename option to change the extension of the file
2. Connect the smart phone with any Windows laptop or PC. Browse the desired file and select rename option to change the extension of the file.

Note:

• Use this option only when it is necessary. For example, if you download any secured pdf file in Android browser, it will download as .bin file. In that case, you have to rename it as .pdf to view the file
• If you rename pdf to doc or jpeg to png or xls to txt, then the file will appear as corrupted. You need to use file converter tools to perform such conversions.

To view bin file in Android :

1. Open ES file explorer . If you dont have it, get it from google play store
2. Now rename the file extension from .bin to .pdf and select OK
3. Now, you will be able to view the file in PDF reader
4. If your bin file is in another format, then you have to change the extension accordingly to view the file.
