Is DWG a CAD file | CAD basics about different drawing file extensions

Generally in AutoCAD & NX , the drawing file is store in DWG format. DWG format file is one of the CAD file .

If we create a drawing sheet in NX or AutoCAD, we can save it in DWG format. But there might be some data loss or data inaccuracy if we transfer the dwg file from AutoCAD to NX or vice versa.

Other CAD softwares like Catia, Solidworks, Solid Edge, ProE etc uses different file extensions for drawing.

Catia stores the drawing sheet with extension .Catdrawing

ProE stores the drawing sheet with extension .drw

SolidEdge stores the drawing sheet with extension .dft

Solidworks stores the drawing sheet with extension  .eDRW

The CAD drawing files created in a specific CAD software cannot be directly opened in other CAD software. Either we should export it into a neutral file format like AutoCAD drawing or the software should have importing license for the specific file format.

What is CAD promotion in Catia V5 and V6 | Part Promotion in Catia

 Part promote is a part of release process in Catia Enovia PLM. In the terms of Life cycle management, "Promote" generally refers to pushing the object to next stage of the work flow by getting proper approvals assigned in the system.

Specific to Part Promotion in Catia PLM, when an user promote a part , it will be considered as moved to Mature stage.

The matured part once frozen could not be demoted by the General CAD user. The intervention of Enovia PLM administrator is required to modify the status in such a case.

In certain circumstances, the user can recieve an error while promoting the part, "Change Maturity status failed, User do not have rights to proceed with this operation for current maturity status of the object, promotion Failed"

One of the main reason for "Part Promotion Failed" is the user will not have the rights that he tries to promote. It is always best practice to ensure that the user is the owner of the instance and reference to all other child objects.

And also it is mandatory to enter the values linked with PDEF , PDD properties , if they are defined in the WEB. The user can ensure to enter thickness, material properties etc in such a case.

What does PID means in Matlab

 In Matlab, PID refers to Proportional Integral Derivative.

PID controlerl is one of the familiar blocks used in Matlab for Industrial automation.

Working of PID controller:

The PID controller will produce a control signal as the output by combining all three Proportional Integral and Derivative controllers.

If it is used a feedback controller, then it will pass the signal at desired level set by the user.

In Industrial Automations, PID controller device is used to regulate temperature, pressure etc.

 Sometimes , Engine coolant loss may happen due to various reasons like loss due to minor splashing through radiator accessory tank aka no loss tank's vent hole, coolant loss while replacing the inlet or outlet radiator hose, coolant loss due to hose damage or evaporation of coolant (which is not common nowadays)

If you are caught in an emergency situation in the mid of the journey,  you can topup with ordinary water to survive to the nearest mechanic shop. But first try to bring the mechanic to the breakdown point instead of moving your vehicle.

Now coming to the topup of coolant liquid, you can either fill the coolant manually through the radiator cap or no loss tank cap. Be very cautious while opening the radiator cap, since your coolant might be boiling inside with some pressure accumulated if your car is just stopped. Better wait for some time to cool the engine. Once the cap is removed, pour some coolant through the radiator cap until it fills, once it is filled start the engine and keep idling for 10 to 20 seconds, now you can pour some more through radiator cap. Repeat this until the radiator cap opening is filled. 

Now, close the radiator cap and slighty press the accelerator pedal in 5 seconds frequency, and topup the coolant in no loss tank upto maximum level.

Keep the engine idling and some pressing of accelerator pedal in 5 seconds frequency. Now , you can see the level of coolant is reduced in no loss tank. Now, again topup the noloss tank.

The whole process will take approximately 15 minute . Do not rush, approach the process in a safe manner .

On the other hand,Luckily, if you reached the Garage for topup, if they have the pressurized vaccum coolant refilling machine,  then the machine will pull out the existing coolant completely and fill out the new coolant through the raidator cap opening.

Hissing Noise in Engine due to Turbo Vaccum Hose

 In turbo charged engines, sometimes you can observe a Hissing sound while engine is running.

Inorder to ensure that , the source of this noise, you can unplug the turbo vaccum hose and try the engine running. Now if you dont see the hissing noise, then there is a sure chance that Vaccum Leak due to Turbo Vaccum hose is the reason for the hissing noise.

Sometimes, you will see a warning signal in the dashboard if vaccum leak has occured.

Vaccum leak usually needs technician experts assistants. So it is advisable to take your car to a well known technician to solve the issue. But if you are more sure about that the leak is due to the damaged vaccum hose or hose connector, then you can replace the hose alone by yourself to save some money.
