TRAI has implemented many strict rules in telecom industry which is applicable to all mobile networks including Airtel
One of the significant regulation is related to subscription and deactivation of VAS (Value Added Services) like monthly dialer tunes,sports news, astrology etc.
TRAI has strictly announced that VAS should be able to deactivated or stopped by the customer itself just by sending SMS or calling to an automated registered number.
For Airtel, the following steps should be done in-order to stop VAS.
Method 1 : Through USSD
Step 1:
Dial *121*5# in your mobile phone with Airtel Simcard
Step 2:
Press Call Button.
Step 3:
You will get a list of VAS subscribed by you. You just need to choose the correct option that you have to stop.
Step 4:
After Choosing the correct option , you will get a notification that VAS is stopped.
Method 2:Through SMS
Step 1:
SMS STOP to 121
Step 2:
You will receive the list of VAS subscribed by you.
Step 3:
Reply the appropriate number .For example 1 for Dialer tune , 2 for cricket score
Step 4:
You will get a notification message that the VAS is stopped.
